Prime Minister sends a written message to the Foreign Minister of Brazil

The State of Qatar, as the current chair of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has extended an invitation to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, HE Mauro Vieira, to attend the first-ever GCC-Brazilian Ministerial Meeting in September in Doha. This invitation was delivered through a written message from Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. The Secretary-General of the GCC, HE Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, personally delivered the message during a meeting with HE Vieira in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.

HE Al Budaiwi emphasized that the invitation reflects the GCC’s eagerness to strengthen strategic relations with Brazil in various areas that serve mutual interests and bring great benefits to the peoples of both nations. The goal is to explore new opportunities for cooperation and enhance relations with global countries and organizations. The discussions between the two sides during the meeting focused on the current state of relations between the GCC and Brazil, as well as ways to enhance and expand these ties. They also touched upon topics of common interest, including the upcoming signing of a memorandum of understanding and joint action plan during the ministerial meeting in September.

Furthermore, the meeting provided an opportunity for the exchange of views on recent regional and international developments. Issues such as the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip and the serious violations by Israeli occupation forces were also addressed. HE Vieira expressed Brazil’s keen interest in strengthening its relationship with the GCC and expanding cooperation in various areas. He welcomed the invitation to attend the GCC-Brazilian Ministerial Meeting and highlighted the numerous opportunities for collaboration that can benefit both parties at all levels.

Brazil and the GCC are committed to enhancing their partnership and exploring new avenues for cooperation that can lead to mutual prosperity and growth. The upcoming Ministerial Meeting in September is expected to further solidify the ties between the two regions and pave the way for deeper collaboration in the future. Both sides are eager to strengthen their relations and work towards achieving common goals for the benefit of their respective peoples.
