UAE delegation investigates Oman’s legal system

A judicial delegation from the Federal Supreme Court in the United Arab Emirates recently visited the Supreme Judicial Council in Muscat, Oman. The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into the Council’s experience in developing judicial and justice systems. This visit is part of a larger program aimed at exploring the functions of GCC supreme courts and courts of cassation. During the visit, Sayyid Khalifa bin Said Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Supreme Court, and Falah Shaya Al Hajri, Judge at the UAE Federal Supreme Court, discussed various aspects of judicial cooperation.

Both sides praised the strong bilateral relations and friendly ties between Oman and the UAE. The UAE delegation also had the opportunity to tour the facilities of the Supreme Court in Muscat and learn about the procedures involved in lawsuits. Issa Hamad Al Azri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Judicial Council, held a separate meeting with the UAE delegation to discuss areas of judicial and legislative cooperation. The delegation was also briefed on the Supreme Judicial Council’s strategic plan and its role in ensuring prompt justice and upholding the rule of law.

Attorney General Nasr Khamis Al Sawa’ee further discussed potential areas for collaboration between Oman and the UAE in fields such as public prosecution, investigation, and judicial actions. The visit underscored the commitment of both countries to strengthening their judicial systems and enhancing cooperation in the legal field. By sharing experiences and best practices, Oman and the UAE aim to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their respective justice systems.

The exchange of knowledge and experiences between the judicial delegations from Oman and the UAE is a positive step towards enhancing the legal cooperation between the two countries.
