UAE residents with corporate licences issued in May, regardless of the year, are required to submit their corporate tax registration application by July 31st to avoid penalties, according to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). Failure to meet the deadline will result in a Dh10,000 administrative penalty for late registration, starting from March 1st. Adherence to registration deadlines is crucial, as emphasized by the FTA through various communication channels.

Corporate tax applies to juridical persons incorporated in the UAE, as well as foreign entities effectively managed and controlled within the country. This includes entities established in free zones and those controlled from the UAE. Any resident juridical person established before March 1, 2024, must submit their tax registration application based on the month of their licence issuance, with priority given to the licence with the earliest date.

Taxpayers can utilize the ‘EmaraTax’ digital tax services platform provided by the FTA for easy registration and access to services 24/7. Unregistered individuals can create a user profile and obtain a tax registration number using their email and phone number. Accredited tax agents listed on the FTA’s website and government service centers across the UAE are available to assist taxable persons with their corporate tax requirements.

Corporate tax is a direct tax imposed on the net income or profit of corporations and businesses in the UAE. Individuals engaged in business activities will be subject to corporate tax if their combined turnover exceeds Dh1 million annually. It is essential for businesses to comply with tax regulations and deadlines to avoid penalties and ensure smooth operations within the UAE.

Staying informed and up to date with the latest tax news and regulations is vital for UAE residents subject to corporate tax. Following official media platforms and the FTA’s communication channels can help individuals and businesses understand their obligations and ensure timely compliance. By submitting corporate tax registration applications on time and utilizing digital platforms for tax-related services, taxpayers can avoid penalties and smoothly manage their tax obligations.

In conclusion, the deadline for submitting corporate tax registration applications for UAE residents with licences issued in May is July 31st. The FTA emphasizes the importance of adherence to registration deadlines to avoid penalties. By utilizing digital tax platforms and seeking assistance from accredited tax agents, individuals and businesses can ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations and manage their tax obligations effectively in the UAE. Stay informed and follow official channels to stay updated on the latest tax news and regulations to avoid penalties and ensure smooth business operations.
