The Military Defense Committee of the Saudi-Malaysian Coordination Council recently held its inaugural meeting in Kuala Lumpur, with the aim of fostering closer ties between the defense ministries of both countries. Chaired by Air Force Major General Salman Al-Harbi and Muhammad bin Dawood, the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in the defense and military sectors to serve mutual interests. Various issues of common concern were also discussed during the meeting, highlighting the importance of collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia in the defense realm.

Major General Al-Harbi’s visit to Kuala Lumpur included meetings with key officials such as Datuk Bin Ishak, Secretary-General of the Malaysian Ministry of Defense, to discuss bilateral relations and efforts to enhance joint cooperation and coordination, particularly in military defense. These meetings allowed for productive discussions on ways to strengthen ties between the two nations, emphasizing the significance of military cooperation in achieving common goals and objectives.

In addition to meeting with Malaysian officials, Major General Al-Harbi also visited the Saudi Military Attaché in Kuala Lumpur and Brunei to learn more about its roles, tasks, and current operations. He was briefed on the support extended by the Saudi leadership to strengthen the common interests of both nations, underscoring the commitment of Saudi Arabia to building strong relationships with Malaysia in the defense sector. This visit further highlighted the importance of maintaining open lines of communication and collaboration between the two countries.

The meeting of the Military Defense Committee reflects the shared commitment of Saudi Arabia and Malaysia to enhancing cooperation in the defense and military sectors. By exploring ways to develop and strengthen ties between their defense ministries, both countries are working towards serving their mutual interests and addressing common challenges.
