Ten construction and contracting companies recently submitted bids to build commercial facilities on five plots of land in Salman City, as revealed by the Tender Board. The Housing Bank initiated this tender, with bids ranging from 2,275,000 Bahraini dinars to 3,980,000 dinars. Among the companies that submitted bids were Jahecon Company and Saleh Abdullah Kameshki & Sons. The development of the plots in Salman City will encompass the construction of various commercial facilities such as waterfront restaurants, a fitness centre, service shops, and a supermarket. The total land area is around 14,000 square meters, with a construction area of 5,000 square meters.

The Housing Bank has specified that only pre-qualified contractors are allowed to participate in the tender. These contractors must hold a Grade A or higher qualification from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning for building houses, or a Grade C or higher qualification from the same ministry for constructing residential buildings. Alternatively, they could hold a Grade A or higher qualification from the Ministry of Works for building projects. Additionally, contractors must have completed projects with a minimum construction area of 5,000 square meters within the past five years to be eligible to participate in the tender. Failure to meet these criteria will result in disqualification.

The bidding process attracted significant interest from various construction and contracting companies in Bahrain. The bids submitted reflect the competitive nature of the construction industry in the country, with companies vying to secure contracts for the development of commercial facilities in Salman City. The project aims to enhance the commercial infrastructure in the area by introducing new establishments such as waterfront restaurants, a fitness centre, service shops, and a supermarket. The development is expected to contribute to the economic growth of Salman City and provide residents with access to essential services and amenities.

The Housing Bank’s initiative to develop commercial facilities in Salman City aligns with the government’s efforts to promote economic development and investment in the country. By facilitating the construction of new commercial establishments, the project is expected to create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region. The inclusion of waterfront restaurants, a fitness centre, service shops, and a supermarket in the development plan reflects the demand for such amenities in the area. This strategic approach to urban development is poised to attract residents and visitors to Salman City, contributing to its vibrancy and appeal as a commercial hub.

Overall, the tender for the construction of commercial facilities in Salman City marks a significant milestone in the development of the area. With ten construction and contracting companies vying for the opportunity to undertake the project, the competitive nature of the bidding process signifies the interest and investment potential in Salman City. The successful implementation of the project is expected to enhance the commercial landscape of Salman City and provide residents with access to a range of essential services and amenities. Through such initiatives, the government and private sector are working together to drive economic growth and development in Bahrain, creating a conducive environment for businesses and investors alike.
