Thirty-five talented Saudi students from Mawhiba Foundation are heading to Los Angeles to compete in the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2024). These students were selected from over 210,000 participants across the Kingdom and underwent rigorous training by academic trainers and experts to prepare for the competition. Mawhiba will also be a main sponsor at ISEF, offering special prizes and opportunities for the best projects in STEM fields.

The Saudi students, representing Mawhiba, will join peers from 70 countries at ISEF, the world’s largest pre-college scientific research and innovation competition. The students advanced through multiple rounds of the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, with only 35 out of 180 finalists chosen to represent Saudi Arabia at the competition. This highlights the dedication of the Kingdom to promoting a culture of innovation and scientific excellence among its youth.

In addition to competing, Mawhiba will offer special prizes for the best projects in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at ISEF 2024. These prizes include scholarships for undergraduate studies at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and opportunities to join the Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program. The Saudi students have been supported by national incubators, universities, research centers, and their families and teachers in their journey to ISEF.

This year marks the 18th consecutive year of Saudi participation in international science competitions, with the Kingdom’s students having won a total of 133 awards since 2007. This includes 92 grand prizes and 41 special distinctions, showcasing the talent and dedication of Saudi youth in the field of science and innovation. The Kingdom’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators is evident through its continued support for students participating in global competitions like ISEF.

As the students from Mawhiba Foundation gear up to showcase their projects and compete at ISEF 2024, they carry the hopes and aspirations of their country on the international stage. With their training, dedication, and support from various institutions and mentors, these students are well-equipped to excel in the competition and make their mark in the field of science and engineering. The participation of Saudi students at ISEF is a testament to the Kingdom’s investment in the future of innovation and technology, as well as its efforts to empower and inspire the youth to reach their full potential.
