The 2024 Spring Job Fair at the University of Dubai, Academic City, is set to offer over 150 full-time and part-time job opportunities to university students. Organized by the Chinese Business Council in UAE and UAE Chinese Students’ Association, the fair will focus on various fields such as finance, accounting, architecture, education, computer technology, and business management. Chinese consul-general Ou Boqian emphasized that the event aims to empower students with career prospects in prestigious Dubai and Chinese companies. The fair will provide students with direct connections to leading employers and allow them to network with professionals in their respective fields.

Speaking with Khaleej Times, Boqian mentioned that fluency in Chinese is not a requirement for attending the job fair, as it is open to both local and international students. Currently, the focus is on recruiting students for the available opportunities. More than 150 job openings from 36 companies will be presented at the fair, including well-known names like Industrial and Commercial Bank of China-DIFC, China Mobile International, and Emaar Properties. These companies offer a wide range of opportunities for students to explore and kickstart their careers.

The Chinese Consulate revealed that there are approximately 500 Chinese students studying in various universities in the UAE, with a focus on majors like business management, financial economy, computer technology, education, and Arabic studies. Boqian expressed hope that these students will play a significant role in contributing to the development of China and promoting Chinese-style modernization. She emphasized the importance of Chinese students becoming ambassadors of Chinese culture and fostering stronger ties between China and the Arab world through cultural exchanges and friendship initiatives.

The job fair presents a valuable opportunity for students to connect with potential employers and explore a variety of career paths in Dubai and Chinese companies operating in the UAE. With more than 150 job openings available from 36 companies, students have a diverse range of opportunities in fields such as finance, accounting, architecture, education, computer technology, and business management. The event aims to empower students with the necessary resources to kickstart their careers and establish connections with leading professionals in the industry.

While fluency in Chinese is not a requirement for attending the job fair, it is open to both local and international students. The primary focus of recruitment is currently targeted towards university students, providing them with a platform to explore job opportunities and network with potential employers. With a diverse range of companies participating in the fair, students can gain insights into various industries and potentially secure internships or full-time positions post-graduation.

The Chinese consulate’s support for Chinese students studying in the UAE underscores the importance of nurturing young talent and encouraging their contributions to their homeland. Boqian envisions these students as future leaders who will play a pivotal role in promoting Chinese culture and strengthening China’s relationships with the Arab world. By participating in events like the job fair, Chinese students can not only explore career opportunities but also represent their country and contribute to cultural exchanges and friendships between China and the UAE.
