Saudi Arabia reiterated its call to the UN Security Council to prevent further escalation of the conflict in the Middle East during the two-day meeting of the Global Alliance for Implementation of the Two-State Solution in Riyadh. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Saudi Deputy Minister for International Multilateral Affairs, emphasized the need for the Security Council to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and work towards a comprehensive peace process. Grounded in international law, UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative, the two-state solution aims to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and establish an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Dr. Al-Rassi urged peace-loving countries to join the alliance and praised those who have recently recognized the State of Palestine. He called for a united effort to accelerate the realization of the two-state solution and peace in the region. The ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, including the recent ban on UNRWA activities in the occupied territories, was strongly condemned by Dr. Al-Rassi as a violation of international law and a threat to regional security. He highlighted the importance of UNRWA’s humanitarian mission in assisting Palestinian refugees and called for the immediate and unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed its firm opposition to the Israeli occupation’s targeting of UN agencies and humanitarian organizations, which puts the lives of their workers at risk. Dr. Al-Rassi emphasized the need for the international community, particularly the permanent members of the Security Council, to use their influence to compel Israel to halt its aggression and uphold security and peace in the region. He warned that the continuation of Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people will only lead to further conflict and instability, posing a threat to global security.

The significance of the Global Alliance’s first meeting was highlighted by Dr. Al-Rassi, who stressed the urgency of finding a political solution based on the principles of international law and UN resolutions. The alliance aims to engage participating countries in supporting a multilateral path towards peace and ending the Israeli occupation. Dr. Al-Rassi expressed hope for the success of this initiative and encouraged other nations to join in the efforts to achieve a comprehensive peace agreement in the region. By working together towards a two-state solution, the alliance seeks to bring an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people and establish lasting peace in the Middle East.

In conclusion, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister for International Multilateral Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, called on the international community to take immediate action to prevent further escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. Emphasizing the importance of upholding the rights of the Palestinian people and working towards a comprehensive peace agreement, Dr. Al-Rassi urged peace-loving countries to join the Global Alliance for Implementation of the Two-State Solution. By supporting a multilateral political path based on international law and UN resolutions, the alliance aims to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and establish an independent Palestinian state. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its commitment to supporting UNRWA’s humanitarian mission and condemned the Israeli occupation’s targeting of UN agencies and humanitarian organizations. Dr. Al-Rassi expressed hope for the success of the alliance and called for collective efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
