Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on a military base in the Lake Chad region, expressing its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Chad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also wished a speedy recovery for the injured individuals and reiterated the Kingdom’s stance against all forms of violence and terrorism.

The militant group Boko Haram is believed to be responsible for the attack, which targeted the Chadian army at the western Ngouboua region near the Nigerian border. The attack occurred late at night, when Boko Haram members overtook the garrison and seized weapons, burnt vehicles, and left the scene. The attack resulted in the tragic death of around 40 soldiers, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by terrorist groups in the region.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the attack reflects its firm stance against terrorism and violence, as well as its commitment to supporting peace and stability in the region. Saudi Arabia has been actively involved in counter-terrorism efforts and has worked closely with international partners to combat extremist groups like Boko Haram, which continue to pose a threat to security in the Lake Chad region.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ statement emphasizes the importance of international cooperation in addressing the root causes of terrorism and extremism, as well as in promoting a message of tolerance and coexistence. Saudi Arabia has been a vocal advocate for global efforts to combat terrorism, and has taken steps to enhance its own counter-terrorism capabilities through strategic partnerships and initiatives.

In the wake of the recent attack on the military base in the Lake Chad region, Saudi Arabia stands in solidarity with the government and people of Chad, offering support and assistance in the aftermath of this tragic event. The Kingdom remains committed to working with Chad and other countries in the region to address security challenges and promote peace and stability across Africa.

Overall, Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the terrorist attack in the Lake Chad region underscores the importance of global solidarity in the fight against terrorism. The Kingdom’s firm stance against violent extremism, as well as its support for international efforts to combat terrorist groups, reflects its commitment to promoting peace and security in the region and beyond.
