The Qatar Skydive Team of the Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces recently won the bronze medal at the CISM World Military Parachuting Championship in Budapest, Hungary. The team was ranked third in the tournament, behind Belgium and the US, who won the gold and silver medals respectively. The Qatari squad participated in both the quadruple cohesion and target teams, achieving third place and earning the bronze medal after facing tough competition from 33 countries around the world.

Commander of the Joint Special Forces and President of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, HE Maj. Gen. Jassim bin Ali Al Attiyah, praised the team’s accomplishments and emphasized the continuous support from the leadership in promoting air sports. He congratulated the team on their success and expressed his optimism for future achievements. Since 2008, the Qatari air sports team has achieved significant success in various continental and global parachuting championships, including entering the Guinness World Records for the largest night formation canopy relative work.

Vice Chairperson of the QASC, Lt. Col. Abdullah Saeed Al Mansouri, commended the team for their milestone achievement and highlighted the support and determination that led to their success. Secretary-General of QASC, Captain Haza’a Hamad Al Attiyah, also celebrated the team’s victory and acknowledged the high level of competition experienced during the tournament. Captain and leader of the cohesion quadruple parachuting team, First Lieutenant Hamad Al Marri, expressed the team’s strong desire to win gold but acknowledged the fierce competition that ultimately led to their third-place finish.

The Qatari team’s performance at the CISM World Military Parachuting Championship showcased their dedication and skill in the sport of skydiving. Winning the bronze medal serves as motivation for the team to continue improving and striving for success in future championships. With ongoing support from leadership and a commitment to excellence, the Qatari air sports team is poised for continued success on the international stage.
