The Qatar Chamber recently met with their Vietnamese counterparts to discuss potential cooperation and investment opportunities between the two countries. The meeting involved the Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari and Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vo Tan Thanh. Discussions focused on enhancing commercial and economic relations, improving the investment climate, and identifying opportunities for Qatari and Vietnamese private sectors to collaborate in various sectors.

Al Kuwari emphasized the strong relations between Qatar and Vietnam and highlighted the numerous opportunities for cooperation and partnership between the two countries’ private sectors. He also expressed the Chamber’s support for Qatari investors looking to invest in Vietnam and encouraged Vietnamese investors to explore opportunities in Qatar. The meeting aimed to promote bilateral trade and investments by facilitating dialogue between the business communities of both countries.

Vice President Thanh echoed Al Kuwari’s sentiments regarding the strong relations between Qatar and Vietnam while acknowledging that trade between the two countries has not reached its full potential. He identified various sectors, such as infrastructure, food security, renewable energy, IT, and energy, where cooperation between the private sectors of both countries could flourish. Thanh also highlighted specific export opportunities for Vietnam in high-quality food products, halal foods, garments, and electronics, urging Qatari business owners to consider investing in Vietnam.

Furthermore, Thanh invited Qatari investors to visit Vietnam to gain a better understanding of the country’s investment climate and incentives for foreign investors. He also mentioned the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both chambers in 2014 to strengthen cooperation between their business sectors. Thanh emphasized the significance of exchanging business visits to explore available opportunities and enhance collaboration between the business communities of Qatar and Vietnam.

In conclusion, the meeting between the Qatar Chamber and the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlighted the potential for enhanced cooperation and investment between Qatar and Vietnam. Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening commercial and economic relations and exploring opportunities for collaboration in various sectors. By encouraging business visits and exchange programs, the chambers aim to foster closer ties between the private sectors of Qatar and Vietnam and promote bilateral trade and investments for mutual benefit.
