The Sultanate of Oman has made its presence known at the Tashkent International Investment Forum in Uzbekistan. Represented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Oman’s delegation is headed by Minister Qais Mohammed Al Yousef. The delegation also includes ambassador Sayyida Wafa Jabr Al Busaidi and various businesspeople. The forum focused on various aspects of global investment, economic development, green energy opportunities, and strategies for navigating the global economic landscape. Discussions also touched on corporate governance, e-commerce trends, infrastructure projects, and the potential for foreign investment in the tourism sector in Central Asia.

During the first day of the forum, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan met with Minister Al Yousef to discuss trade relations between Oman and Uzbekistan. They explored ways to attract more investors to the Omani-Uzbek Investment Company and discussed potential investments in various sectors such as tourism, hospitality, health, education, logistics, and infrastructure. Minister Al Yousef also had a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov. They discussed the possibility of holding an exhibition of Uzbekistan’s products in Oman, increasing trade exchange volumes, and opening direct air routes between the two countries to enhance bilateral relations.

The presence of Oman at the Tashkent International Investment Forum highlights the country’s interest in expanding its global partnerships and exploring new investment opportunities. By participating in discussions on key economic topics, Oman is showcasing its commitment to fostering economic growth and development. The meetings between Minister Al Yousef and high-ranking officials from Uzbekistan demonstrate the mutual desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation and explore avenues for further collaboration in various sectors.

The forum provided a platform for Oman to engage in dialogue with key stakeholders in Uzbekistan and exchange ideas on how to deepen economic ties between the two countries. By exploring opportunities for investment in sectors such as tourism, hospitality, and infrastructure, Oman is positioning itself as a valuable partner for Uzbekistan. The discussions on corporate governance, e-commerce trends, and global economic transitions also highlight Oman’s interest in staying abreast of global economic developments and aligning its investment strategies with emerging trends.

Overall, Oman’s participation in the Tashkent International Investment Forum underscores the country’s commitment to pursuing strategic partnerships and investment opportunities on the global stage. By engaging in discussions with Uzbek officials and business leaders, Oman is laying the groundwork for future collaborations and partnerships that could drive economic growth and prosperity for both countries. The forum serves as a valuable platform for Oman to showcase its potential as a key player in the global investment landscape and to explore avenues for collaboration with Uzbekistan in various sectors of mutual interest.
