Kuala Lumpur: The Sultanate of Oman signed a memorandum of cooperation with the International Islamic University of Malaysia to establish an Omani Research and Studies Centre. The memorandum was signed by Sheikh Ahmed Saud Al Siyabi and Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar. The aim of the memorandum is to introduce Oman and its people, as well as to encourage academics and specialists to conduct studies and research about the country. This partnership seeks to enhance cultural communication and professional cooperation between the two countries.

The signing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Abbas bin Ibrahim Al Harthy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, as well as ambassadors of Arab and friendly countries, researchers, academics, and individuals interested in the field. The establishment of the Omani Research and Studies Centre is a significant step towards strengthening the ties between Oman and Malaysia. The centre will provide a platform for researchers and specialists to collaborate and conduct studies on various aspects of Oman’s culture, history, and society.

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Oman played a crucial role in facilitating this partnership, highlighting the importance of promoting cultural exchange and knowledge sharing.
