Officials from around the world visit Qatar’s booth at COP29

Qatar’s participation in the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Azerbaijan was highlighted by Minister of Environment and Climate Change HE Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Subaie. During the visit, a number of high-ranking officials and dignitaries were briefed on Qatar’s efforts in the field of climate action and environmental sustainability. The guests learned about Qatar’s key policies and strategies aimed at achieving sustainable development.

Among the officials present were HE Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shina Ansari, HE Minister of Oil and Environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, and HE Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak. Also in attendance were Director General of the Environment Public Authority of the State of Kuwait Eng. Samira Al-Kandari, and HE Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkiye Murat Kurum. The delegation of guests also included HE Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation Boris Titov, HE Minister of Environment and Energy of the Hellenic Republic Theodoros Skylakakis, and President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser.

The visit to Qatar’s pavilion at COP29 allowed the guests to gain insight into the country’s initiatives in climate change and environmental sustainability. Qatar has been actively working towards achieving sustainable development through various policies and strategies. The visit provided an opportunity for the officials to exchange ideas and strategies on how to combat climate change and promote environmental sustainability in their respective countries.
