Media City Qatar, in collaboration with Qatar University, recently hosted the Euronews Business Media Training event in Doha, Qatar. The event aimed to provide students with practical experience in media production, journalism, editorial, and broadcasting to nurture young creative talent. Held from October 29 to October 31, 2024, at Qatar University’s College of Business and Economics, the three-day event offered students an immersive learning experience through hands-on training and real-world case studies.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in practical sessions with experts from the Euronews Doha production team, where they explored the latest trends, innovative content distribution strategies, and business models shaping the global media landscape. This initiative is the first major collaboration between Media City Qatar and Qatar University following the Memorandum of Understanding signed during the Qatar Economic Forum in May 2024. The partnership with Euronews further emphasizes the commitment to providing world-class training in Qatar and fostering the next generation of media professionals.

Tevfik Ergun, Strategy & Business Planning Manager at Media City Qatar, highlighted the significance of the business media training in driving the transformation of Qatar’s media landscape and shaping the future of media in the country. By aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 and partnering with leading institutions like Qatar University and global leaders such as Euronews, the initiative aims to position Qatar as a regional hub for media innovation and excellence. The collaboration with industry experts will not only nurture talent but also prepare students to make meaningful contributions across various sectors beyond their university experience.

Rana Sobh, Dean of the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University, expressed the university’s commitment to empowering students with practical, transferable skills to excel in the fast-changing media business landscape. Through collaborations with Media City Qatar and Euronews, the university aims to enrich its curriculum and ensure that students are fully prepared to contribute meaningfully in the media industry. The Euronews Business Media Training marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to equipping students with essential skills for success in their careers.

Maxime Carboni, Chief Business Officer at Euronews, shared his excitement about joining forces with Media City Qatar and Qatar University’s Business College for the business media training initiative. Euronews is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of media professionals and providing students with hands-on experience in the media industry. By empowering the future of media through education and collaboration, Euronews aims to play a crucial role in shaping the media landscape and supporting the growth of creative talent in Qatar.

In line with its broader strategy, Media City Qatar is committed to fostering a thriving media ecosystem in the country by supporting the growth of creative talent and innovative media practices. The strategic partnerships with educational institutions and global industry leaders highlight Media City Qatar’s dedication to positioning Qatar as a leading hub for media and content creation. By playing a vital role in the nation’s cultural and economic future, Media City Qatar aims to solidify its position as a key player in the development of the media industry in Qatar.
