Mbappé’s last Champions League match in Paris with PSG

Kylian Mbappé is set to play his final Champions League match for Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night. The French striker is leaving the club this summer after seven seasons and hopes to clinch a Champions League triumph in Wembley on June 1. However, before that, Mbappé must lead a fightback in the second leg of their semifinal against Borussia Dortmund, as PSG currently trails 1-0 from the first leg in Germany.

PSG coach Luis Enrique is counting on Mbappé to deliver a strong performance after a disappointing first leg. Enrique wants his star striker to be present in the decisive zones on the pitch and is confident that Mbappé, along with other attackers like Ousmane Dembele and Gonçalo Ramos, can overturn the deficit against Dortmund. However, Enrique faces defensive concerns as defender Lucas Hernandez is ruled out for the remainder of the season with a serious knee injury.

For PSG to secure a spot in the Champions League final, solid defending will be crucial against a Dortmund team with great attacking abilities and multiple goal scorers in the competition this season. The winner of the PSG-Dortmund match will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the final, with the two teams drawing 2-2 in their first leg. PSG, who recently wrapped up the French league title, has never won the Champions League while Dortmund claimed the title in 1997.

Despite the defensive setback, PSG remains confident in their ability to overcome the deficit and qualify for the final. Mbappé, the club’s all-time leading scorer, is focused on guiding his team to a come-from-behind victory against Dortmund. With attacking options like Dembele and Barcola at his disposal, Mbappé is expected to lead the charge in the crucial second leg at home. PSG’s hopes of a historic Champions League triumph rest on a strong performance from Mbappé and his teammates.

Enrique faces a selection dilemma in defense following Hernandez’s injury, with the option to start inexperienced Brazilian Lucas Beraldo or rely on the returning Milan Skriniar. The coach may also consider pairing Danilo Pereira with Marquinhos to bolster the defense against Dortmund’s set pieces. PSG will need a resilient defensive display to contain Dortmund’s attacking threat and secure a place in the final.

As Paris Saint-Germain prepares for a pivotal Champions League clash, the focus is on Mbappé and his ability to lead the team to victory. With the support of a talented attacking lineup and a determined defensive effort, PSG aims to make history by reaching the Champions League final. The stage is set for Mbappé to bid farewell to PSG in style with a memorable performance at the Parc des Princes.
