Jorge Martin of Ducati Prima Pramac Racing secured pole position in the French MotoGP Grand Prix at Le Mans, despite crashing in the final stages of qualifying. Martin, who set a lap record in practice, will aim to extend his lead in the standings at the sprint race.

The qualifying session in western France saw several riders experiencing crashes, including Bagnaia and Jack Miller. Six-time world champion Marc Marquez had to settle for a 13th place start, his worst result of the year. Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo, the home favorite, will start from eighth position. South African Brad Binder finished last in the qualifiers.

Despite his late crash, Martin managed to secure pole position, giving him the best possible starting position for the race. Bagnaia, who is currently behind Martin in the standings, failed to capitalize on the Spaniard’s mistake. With Vinales completing the front row, the stage is set for an exciting race at Le Mans.
