The Wings for Life World Run is back for its 11th edition, with the race set to take place on May 5, 2024. Participants from all over the world, including top athletes like Mutaz Barshim, Almoez Ali, and Abdulla Al Tamimi, are gearing up to take part in this one-of-a-kind running event. The Qatar leg of the race will be held at the iconic Khalifa International Stadium, where runners, joggers, and wheelchair users will all start at the same time, at 2:00pm. The unique aspect of this run is the Catcher Car, which gives participants a 30-minute head start and chases them down as they race toward a moving finish line.

Last year’s Wings for Life World Run saw a record-breaking participation of 206,728 people from 192 nationalities in 158 countries, all running for those who can’t. The event aims to surpass this record in 2024, with the ultimate goal of raising funds for spinal cord injury research. Since its inception in 2014, the Wings for Life World Run has raised over €43.8m and has become a global movement with over 1,293,716 registered participants covering 11,839,989 kilometers across all seven continents. The event not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also contributes towards a noble cause.

The Wings for Life World Run is more than just a race; it is a global initiative with the sole purpose of finding a cure for spinal cord injuries. 100% of the entry fees from the event go directly to the Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation. Every step or roll taken in this race contributes to spinal cord research, bringing us closer to finding a cure for this debilitating injury. This year’s race is expected to draw even more participants, all united in their mission to support spinal cord research and make a difference in the lives of those affected by spinal cord injuries.

To join the global movement and participate in the Qatar leg of the Wings for Life World Run at Khalifa International Stadium, interested individuals can register on the official website. By signing up for the race, participants not only get to experience the thrill of racing against the moving finish line but also contribute to a worthy cause. The event is open to everyone, regardless of their running ability or fitness level, making it an inclusive and accessible race for all. Whether you run, jog, or walk, every step counts in the fight against spinal cord injuries.
