Adrian Newey, the Chief Technical Officer of Red Bull Racing, is rumored to be leaving the team in early 2025 after 19 years. Lewis Hamilton, who will join Ferrari from Mercedes, expressed his excitement at the possibility of Newey joining his future team. Hamilton praised Newey’s track record and knowledge in the sport, describing him as an “amazing addition.” Although Hamilton did not confirm if Newey’s potential move to Ferrari was part of his contract negotiations, he expressed his desire to work with the renowned designer.

While Hamilton believes that Newey’s departure will be a loss for Red Bull, he emphasized that the team has a strong foundation of talented individuals behind their success. Despite Newey’s impending exit, Red Bull is on track to potentially win both the constructors’ and drivers’ titles in 2024, with Max Verstappen leading the charge. Hamilton acknowledged the challenge of racing against a team with Newey’s expertise but remains confident in Red Bull’s ability to continue building competitive cars in the future.

Throughout his career, Newey has been instrumental in the success of various championship-winning teams, including Williams and McLaren. With six constructors’ titles and seven drivers’ titles under his belt, Newey is regarded as one of the greatest designers in Formula 1 history. Hamilton expressed his admiration for Newey’s work and highlighted his desire to collaborate with him in the future. Newey’s presence in the sport has had a significant impact on the performance and success of the teams he has worked with.

As speculation continues to swirl around Newey’s next move, Ferrari is among the favorites to secure his services. Hamilton’s endorsement of Newey joining Ferrari adds fuel to the rumors surrounding the potential move. With Hamilton set to make the switch to Ferrari at the end of the season, the prospect of working alongside Newey could further strengthen the team’s competitive edge. As Newey’s departure from Red Bull draws closer, the Formula 1 community eagerly anticipates his next chapter and the impact it will have on the sport.
