Hadatha Centre for Cybersecurity Industry Launched

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, through OCERT and UTAS, launched the Hadatha Centre for Cybersecurity Industry in Muscat, as part of the Regional Cybersecurity Week. The centre aims to enhance the National Programme for Cybersecurity Industry through knowledge management, research, and design of cybersecurity products and services. It also seeks to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in cybersecurity and modern technologies, while serving as a focal point between government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions.

The Hadatha Centre for Cybersecurity Industry was launched in a ceremony under the patronage of Halima Rashid Al Zari, Chairperson of ASMED. The centre’s objective is to achieve compatibility with the Cybersecurity Industry Programme in Oman and to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in cybersecurity. By facilitating collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions, the centre aims to drive the development and growth of the cybersecurity industry in Oman.

The centre will play a crucial role in advancing cybersecurity in Oman by providing a platform for knowledge sharing, research, and innovation in the field. Through simulation, modeling, and testing, the centre will contribute to the design and development of cybersecurity products and services. By fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the centre aims to support the objectives of the Cybersecurity Industry Program in Oman and promote the adoption of modern technologies in the cybersecurity sector.

The launch ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, and the Vice Chancellor of UTAS. The presence of key stakeholders from government, academia, and the private sector underscores the importance of collaboration in driving the growth of the cybersecurity industry in Oman. The Hadatha Centre for Cybersecurity Industry is poised to become a hub for cybersecurity innovation and development in the country.

The establishment of the Hadatha Centre for Cybersecurity Industry marks a significant milestone in Oman’s efforts to strengthen its cybersecurity infrastructure and capabilities. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing between government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions, the centre will play a pivotal role in advancing cybersecurity in the Sultanate.
