North Sharqiya Municipality Launches 2026 Public Cleaning Awareness Campaign
The North Sharqiya Municipality, represented by the Municipal Affairs Department in Al Qabil, has officially launched the fourth edition of its public cleaning awareness campaign for 2026, under the slogan “Partnership and Commitment for a Vibrant Clean Environment.” The campaign was inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faisal bin Ali Al Zaydi, Wali of Al Qabil, in the presence of various officials and members of the municipal council.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the North Sharqiya Municipality to enhance community awareness regarding the importance of public cleanliness and environmental preservation. It aims to instill positive behaviors related to the aesthetic appearance of towns and villages. This year, the campaign will expand to cover several wilayas within North Sharqiya Governorate, promoting cooperation and the exchange of expertise among different sectors of society.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faisal Al Zaydi emphasized the significance of promoting community awareness concerning environmental cleanliness and the shared responsibilities among institutions and community members. According to Khalid bin Salem Al Muslahi, Director of the Municipality Department in Al Qabil, this year’s campaign builds upon last year’s successful initiative, dubbed “Al Qabil is Precious to Us.” That campaign saw widespread community engagement and significantly increased public awareness about the importance of maintaining public cleanliness.
Al Muslahi explained that collaboration with the community is one of the critical components for the success of municipal initiatives. The current campaign will broaden its scope to incorporate various wilayas in the North Sharqiya region, involving municipalities, government institutions, private organizations, and community members. The goal is to unify efforts and promote positive practices towards cleanliness and environmental stewardship.
