Community Initiative Launches Quran Preservation Project
The Ataa Balsit Volunteer Team in the town of Balsit, located in the Bahlah Governorate, has recently launched a Quran preservation project under the slogan “A Generation with the Quran Elevates the Nation.” This initiative aims to create a structured educational pathway that encompasses memorization, mastery, review, rectification of recitation, and teaching the rules of Tajweed, alongside cultural and motivational programs for students.
This launch was celebrated during an event held at the Balsit Mosque, attended by numerous parents, students, and community members interested in the educational goals and implementation strategies of the project.
Aims and Overview of the Project
The ceremony commenced with Quranic recitations performed by three students from the project. This was followed by a talk from religious preacher Faisal bin Ali Al-Adawi, who discussed the significance of learning and memorizing the Quran, emphasizing how Quranic classes play a vital role in shaping a student’s character and deepening their connection to the Holy Book.
Sulaiman bin Yusuf Al-Hinai, the president of the Ataa Balsit Volunteer Team, stated that the concept of this project evolved from the team’s experience in organizing the “Al-Mu’allim Qalam” Quran memorization competition. The competition revealed a need among participants for more in-depth training in memorization and Tajweed techniques.
Implementation Strategy and Educational Framework
Al-Hinai explained that the project has transitioned from being a seasonal competition to a sustainable educational program that employs a graduated curriculum focused on precision, review, and rectification of recitation. This includes teaching the science of Tajweed using Al-Jazaria, overseen by an accredited Quran teacher, with options for remote learning.
To monitor students’ progress effectively, the project will feature a comprehensive educational and supervisory system supported by a specialized committee along with leaders for various skill levels. Moreover, students will engage in cultural, athletic, and recreational activities, including trips and motivational programs.
Engagement with Parents
The launch event also featured a presentation by Hilal bin Adel Al-Hinai, which outlined registration procedures, attendance tracking systems, and strategies for enabling parents to monitor their children’s progress in the program. This approach reinforces the collaborative effort between educators and families in fostering a strong foundation in Quranic studies.
Future Expectations and Community Impact
As the Quran preservation project progresses, it is expected to significantly impact the local community by instilling values of discipline, knowledge, and spirituality among the youth.
