The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) in Bahrain has introduced a new detection system that utilizes artificial intelligence to monitor building changes and violations. Developed in partnership with Planet Labs and Aetosky, the system aims to enhance monitoring capabilities in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipalities and Agricultural Affairs. This initiative is in line with the national strategy set forth by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to integrate modern technologies into various sectors to meet the needs of the digital economy.

Eng Bassim bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, the Chairman of SLRB, emphasized the importance of integrating AI technologies into the real estate sector to improve operational efficiency. He mentioned the oversight by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to ensure that government projects and services align with digital transformation goals. The government’s performance and digital transformation programme aims to upgrade technical infrastructure and promote investments to enhance the national economy.

The new system leverages advanced technology to monitor changes in construction, the environment, and urban areas by analyzing high-resolution satellite images. AI plays a key role in detecting alterations caused by natural and human activities, enabling real-time monitoring and accurate data analysis. This technology not only improves government operations but also helps save time and costs associated with detecting construction modifications while ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting the urban landscape.

By utilizing digital technology, the SLRB aims to boost efficiency in monitoring building changes and violations, ultimately enhancing regulatory compliance and protecting the urban landscape. The system exemplifies how AI technologies can streamline government operations, optimize resource allocation, and improve the overall efficiency of detecting construction modifications. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to digital transformation and the implementation of modern technologies to drive economic growth and development.

The introduction of the new detection system by SLRB demonstrates a commitment to modernizing operations and integrating advanced technologies to enhance monitoring capabilities in Bahrain. The initiative underscores the importance of utilizing AI and satellite imagery to detect alterations in construction, the environment, and urban areas swiftly and accurately. By embracing digital transformation, the government aims to improve regulatory compliance, save time and costs, and protect the urban landscape while promoting economic growth and development in the country.

Overall, the partnership between SLRB, Planet Labs, and Aetosky highlights the potential of AI technologies to revolutionize monitoring capabilities and enhance efficiency in detecting construction modifications and violations. The introduction of this new system reflects the government’s dedication to implementing modern technologies and driving digital transformation across various sectors in alignment with the national strategy for the digital economy. With continuous oversight from key leaders, Bahrain is poised to leverage AI and advanced technologies to propel economic growth and enhance operational efficiency in the real estate sector and beyond.
