The National Program for Fiscal Sustainability and Financial Sector Development “Estidamah” and State Street Corporation (SSC) recently held a multilateral meeting to discuss opportunities for developing the financial sector in Oman. Officials from various governmental agencies, Omani companies, and international investors participated in the meeting, which focused on topics such as the capital market, green finance initiatives, and financial technology. Nasser Khamis Al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority, emphasized the importance of attracting investors in line with Oman Vision 2040, while Ronald P. O’Hanley, Chairman and CEO of SSC, highlighted their commitment to supporting Oman’s financial sector and attracting global investments.

The meeting aimed to explore strategic investment opportunities for Oman Investment Authority (OIA)-affiliated companies, particularly in the space and green hydrogen sectors. Discussions also revolved around the support provided by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the incentives available to investors. Mahmoud Abdullah Al Owaini, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, underscored the importance of transferring technical knowledge to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of Oman’s financial sector. The collaboration between Estidamah and State Street is geared towards achieving sustainable outcomes, promoting Oman’s competitiveness, and attracting foreign investments.

The strategic partnership between Estidamah and State Street is aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which aims for economic growth and financial sustainability. The meeting supported a Memorandum of Understanding signed in October 2024, focusing on utilizing global finance best practices to enhance Oman’s competitiveness and attract further investments. SSC, a leading financial services institution, provides asset management services and advanced solutions in financial consulting, analysis, and data management across more than 100 global markets. The corporation is known for its trusted partnerships with major financial institutions and governments worldwide.

The collaboration between Estidamah and State Street signals a significant step towards enhancing Oman’s financial sector through knowledge transfer, efficiency improvement, and attracting foreign investments. The meeting highlighted the importance of strategic investments in sectors such as space and green hydrogen, underscoring the role of FSA in providing regulatory support and incentives to investors. Oman’s commitment to attracting global investments aligns with its long-term vision of economic growth and financial sustainability as outlined in Oman Vision 2040.

The partnership between Estidamah and State Street aims to leverage global best practices in finance to enhance Oman’s competitiveness on the global stage. With the support of SSC, which has a strong reputation for providing reliable financial services and solutions, the collaboration seeks to promote sustainable outcomes and attract global investments to Oman. By exploring strategic investment opportunities and discussing key topics in financial sector development, the meeting emphasized the importance of partnerships in achieving Oman’s economic goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040.

In summary, the recent multilateral meeting between Estidamah and State Street Corporation focused on enhancing Oman’s financial sector through knowledge transfer, support for strategic investments, and attracting global investments. By leveraging SSC’s expertise in asset management and financial solutions, the collaboration aims to promote sustainable outcomes and bolster Oman’s competitiveness in the global financial market.
