Completion of Janabiya highway is almost finished

The Janabiya Highway project in Bahrain is nearing completion, with progress exceeding 90%, as reported by Shaikh Meshaal Al-Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works. The ministry is determined to accelerate the work to finish on schedule. This update was shared during an inspection visit by the Undersecretary and ministry engineers. The project is part of a broader initiative to improve access to Salman City and upgrade the adjacent road network, thereby enhancing the highway’s capacity. The expansion involves adding a lane in each direction over approximately 4 kilometers and upgrading traffic intersections to handle 10,500 vehicles per hour.

Eng. Shaikh Meshaal Al-Khalifa emphasized that the project also includes relocating and protecting services along the highway, reconstructing infrastructure, establishing a rainwater drainage network, creating service roads and parking spaces, and enhancing safety measures with traffic barriers, road signs, and warnings. The project also includes some aesthetic improvements to the highway. The contract for the project was awarded to Haji Hassan Group by the Tender Board, ensuring that the project is executed efficiently and effectively.
