The Directorate General of Civil Defense (DGCD) is urging the public in Saudi Arabia to take precautions and stay vigilant as heavy rain is forecasted to hit most regions of the country until Monday. The DGCD is advising people to stay in safe places and avoid areas where torrents and valleys gather, as well as not swim in these places. It is important to adhere to instructions announced through official media outlets and social networking sites. The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) is predicting moderate to heavy rains, hail, and dust-stirring winds in various parts of the Makkah region until Monday. This includes cities such as Jeddah, Taif, and Rabigh.

In the Riyadh region, moderate to heavy rains are expected in cities like Afif, Al-Dawadmi, and Al-Majma’ah. Light to moderate rains are expected in the capital city of Riyadh. Other regions that will be affected by moderate to heavy rains include Madinah, Hail, Al-Qassim, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders, the Eastern Province, Al-Baha, Asir, and Jazan. The NCM has warned of heavy rains, strong winds, poor visibility, high waves, flash floods, thunderstorms, and hail in the Jazan region, with the rainy conditions expected to continue until 8 pm.

The NCM has also stated that dust-stirring winds will blow in parts of various regions, with fog expected in some areas. Winds over the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf will reach speeds of up to 45 km/h. The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Al-Jouf region has raised its readiness in response to the current rainy conditions, with preparations including equipping ambulance teams and additional support teams to respond to any emergency situations resulting from the weather fluctuations. It is important to stay informed of weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during these conditions.
