The Tender Board in Bahrain has recently opened envelopes for six tenders from various ministries and government agencies. BAPCO Refining submitted proposals for pre-qualification to supply switchgear, circuit breakers, electrical conduits, and more, attracting bids from experienced manufacturers. The Ministry of Works is seeking consultancy services for the Buquwah Sewer Scheme, with six bidders submitting technical submissions. Gulf Air requested aircraft disinfectants, with Callington Middle East and Aero-Sense offering bids. Eskan Bank is looking for contractors to develop five plots in Madinat Salman, with Jahecon offering the lowest bid. Bahrain International Circuit is seeking bids for a three-year landscape maintenance contract, with bids ranging from Gulf Fencing to Sayed Kadhem Al Durazi & Sons.

The first proposal opened by the Tender Board was from BAPCO Refining, who requested pre-qualification to supply switchgear. This aimed to attract bids from experienced manufacturers and suppliers, with seven companies entering the competition. BAPCO Refining also sought pre-qualification for the supply of circuit breakers, electrical conduits, cable glands, cable joints, switchboards, and panel boards, with seven companies bidding. The Ministry of Works requested consultancy services for the Buquwah Sewer Scheme, and the successful firm will provide post-contract engineering support as outlined in the tender, with submissions from six bidders being reviewed.

In response to Gulf Air’s request for aircraft disinfectants, Callington Middle East and Aero-Sense submitted bids of BHD 135,850.16 and BHD 170,777.00 respectively. This tender aims to ensure a clean and safe environment for passengers and crew. Eskan Bank’s request involves the development of five plots in Madinat Salman, covering about 14,000 square meters of land with a built-up area of around 5,000 square meters. The project includes commercial facilities such as waterfront restaurants, a fitness center, retail shops, and a supermarket. Only prequalified contractors with relevant experience and registration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning or the Ministry of Works are eligible, and ten bids were received, with Jahecon offering the lowest at BHD 2,275,000.00 compared to Saleh Abdulla Kameshki & Sons’ bid of BHD 3,930,000.00.

Seven bidders are competing for a three-year landscape maintenance contract from Bahrain International Circuit. This contract covers the upkeep and enhancement of landscapes in specified areas, including all necessary personnel, tools, equipment, and materials. Bids ranged from BHD 178,200.00 by Gulf Fencing & Specialist Surfacing to BHD 609,800.40 by Sayed Kadhem Al Durazi & Sons. Each proposal will be evaluated based on technical and financial criteria, with the lowest bid not necessarily securing the contract. The process aims to ensure quality services are provided while also achieving value for money for the entities involved.

In conclusion, the recent tenders opened by the Tender Board in Bahrain cover a range of services and projects, from supplying switchgear and circuit breakers to consulting on infrastructure development and landscape maintenance. Companies are competing to secure contracts that will provide essential services to various government agencies and ministries, ensuring the smooth operation of essential functions in the country. The selection process will evaluate both technical expertise and financial considerations to ensure the best value for money while maintaining high-quality standards. This transparent process aims to promote fair competition and accountability in government procurement, ultimately benefiting the citizens and stakeholders of Bahrain.
