The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), led by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is set to launch an online store offering officially approved sports kits and equipment. The announcement was made during the fifth board meeting held at Al Wadi Palace, where important topics such as Bahrain’s participation in the Paris Olympics 2024, ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, and the Sixth Edition of the School Olympiad were discussed. Additionally, preparations for hosting the High Diving World Cup 2024 and participating in the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2024 were approved.

The BOC also approved Bahrain’s hosting of the first-ever International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) Executive Committee meeting in 2025. His Highness Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts of the board members and the executive body, specially mentioning BOC Secretary General Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji. The board also approved Bahrain’s participation in the Arab Women’s Games 2025 and directed the Olympic Committee to assess the readiness of national federations for the event.

The board reviewed and approved preparations for upcoming events such as the High Diving World Cup 2024, where Bahrain will host the qualifying event for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. They also approved participation in the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2024 to be held in Thailand. Redha Manfredi was appointed as the Director of Bahrain’s delegation for this event, showcasing the importance of Bahrain’s presence in international sporting events.

In addition to preparing for upcoming events, the BOC also approved the formation of a medical committee at the National Centre for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation to manage treatment requests from athletes. Plans to coordinate with the International Olympic Academy to launch an accredited bachelor’s programme in sports management were also approved. This initiative aims to graduate qualified personnel for sports clubs and federations, highlighting the BOC’s commitment to developing talents in the sports industry.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid’s leadership in various sports organizations such as the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), the General Sports Authority (GSA), and the BOC demonstrates his dedication to promoting sports in Bahrain. The establishment of an online store for approved sports kits and equipment will provide athletes with access to high-quality gear, while hosting international sporting events like the CAS Executive Committee meeting and the Arab Women’s Games will further enhance Bahrain’s presence on the global sports stage.

Overall, the BOC’s recent board meeting decisions reflect a commitment to promoting sports participation and excellence in Bahrain. By approving participation in various international events, launching new initiatives such as the online store and the sports management program, and ensuring the readiness of national federations, the BOC under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Khalid is paving the way for a bright future for Bahraini athletes. With a focus on development, accessibility, and collaboration, the BOC is positioning itself as a key player in the regional and international sports community.
