The Bahraini national bodybuilding team has set off for Muscat, Oman, to compete in the 5th West Asian Fitness and Bodybuilding Championship. The event is scheduled to take place from 15 to 17 August at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex and will feature athletes from across the region. Leading the team is Osama Al Laith, who is confident in their abilities to perform well at the championship. The team delegation includes administrative staff such as Abdullah Al Faraj and Mohamed Al Shafie, with Yusuf Khunji serving as a judge.

After extensive preparations, the Bahraini team is fully prepared for the championship, which is being hosted in Oman for the first time. This event marks the kickoff of the Bodybuilding Federation’s season, and the athletes are eager to represent Bahrain and secure medals. They express their gratitude to the Bahraini Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and its Chairman, Mr. Sami Al-Haddad, for their unwavering support in preparation for the competition.

The West Asian Bodybuilding Championship, introduced by Bahrain in December 2016, has seen impressive turnout and success over the years. The second edition in May 2018 saw 182 competitors from various countries, with Bahrain securing 33 medals and leading in the standings with 590 points. This dominance continued in 2019, with Bahrain winning 48 medals and 3 international professional cards at the third edition held at the University of Bahrain. After a four-year hiatus, the championship returned in August 2023, with Bahrain reclaiming the title under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The West Asian Bodybuilding Championship is open to all nationalities residing in West Asian countries, with ten professional cards up for grabs for the best finishers in a variety of categories. Bahrain’s national team has a strong track record of success at this event and will be looking to continue their winning streak at this year’s championship in Oman. With passionate athletes and a dedicated support team, the Bahraini team is poised to make an impact at the competition and showcase their talent on the regional stage.

The athletes representing Bahrain at the West Asian Fitness and Bodybuilding Championship are determined to give their best performance and bring home medals for their country. Under the leadership of Osama Al Laith, the team is confident in their abilities and has high hopes for success at the championship. With a history of impressive achievements at previous editions of the competition, the Bahraini team is well-prepared and ready to compete against the top athletes from across the region.

The championship is a significant event in the regional bodybuilding circuit, and the participation of Bahrain’s national team highlights the country’s commitment to sports excellence. The support from the Bahraini Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and its Chairman, Mr. Sami Al-Haddad, has been instrumental in preparing the team for the competition. As the athletes gear up to represent Bahrain on the international stage, they are grateful for the opportunity and eager to showcase their talent and dedication to the sport of bodybuilding.
