International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Green Energy Kicks Off
Under the patronage of Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Ali, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Council of Private Universities, the Kuwait University of Science and Technology launched the third International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Green Energy (IEEE ICAIGE’26) on Tuesday. The event, which runs until October 15, is being held at the university’s campus and is concurrent with the third Smart, Sustainable, and Secure Internet of Things Forum (S4IoT’26).
This year’s conference welcomed 120 research submissions from 30 countries, highlighting global interest in the topics addressed and fostering knowledge exchange among researchers in intelligent technologies and sustainable energy. The conference is organized in partnership with various Arab and international universities and is sponsored by global organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Significance of S4IoT 2026 Conference
Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Ali emphasized the importance of the S4IoT 2026 conference as an advanced scientific platform. It showcases the rapid advancements in IoT, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and sustainable energy, presenting opportunities and challenges that necessitate enhanced scientific research and collaboration among academic institutions and technical sectors.
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Ali stated that the General Secretariat of the Council of Private Universities prioritizes initiatives and scientific conferences that contribute to improving the higher education system. This support enhances the quality of educational output and fosters an environment conducive to research and innovation, encouraging private higher education institutions to keep pace with scientific and technological developments and establish quality partnerships.
Focus Areas of the Conference
President of the Kuwait University of Science and Technology, Professor Khalid Al-Baqsain, shared during the inauguration that since its inception, the university has been committed to organizing global scientific and research conferences. The aim is to highlight the importance of research in education and to motivate students by exposing them to the latest scientific advancements. This concurrent organization of the Smart, Sustainable, and Secure Internet of Things Conference alongside the Artificial Intelligence and Green Energy Conference continues this tradition.
The conference program is centered on four main themes, which include artificial intelligence and its applications, renewable energy and distributed generation, smart grids, and the digital transformation in green energy. Additionally, it will address fault diagnosis and operational maintenance techniques in renewable energy systems and electric vehicles.
Workshops and Research Publication
The conference will also feature two specialized scientific workshops. The first will focus on employing artificial intelligence in energy networking and smart energy routing. The second workshop will emphasize the use of interpretable artificial intelligence in forecasting sustainable energy production, linking research topics to practical applications. Notably, all accepted research papers following the review process will be published in reputable international scientific journals associated with IEEE Xplore.
Future Implications and Outlook
This event reflects the Kuwait University of Science and Technology’s commitment to supporting scientific research and enhancing academic collaboration. It also provides opportunities for researchers and specialists to discuss technological advancements and their applications in the fields of energy and sustainability.
Looking ahead, the expected outcomes from the conference may lead to significant contributions to Kuwait’s vision for a knowledge-based economy and align with broader development goals. Stakeholders will be observing how the discussions and findings from this event could potentially shape future research and innovation in artificial intelligence and renewable energy within the region.
