Kuwait’s participation at the Arab Travel Market 2026 in Dubai received a significant boost with a visit from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai. The event was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre and took place as part of ongoing efforts to enhance Kuwait’s position on the regional and international tourism map.
Upon his arrival at the Kuwaiti pavilion, Sheikh Mohammed was warmly welcomed by Dr. Nasser Mohsen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, along with Khaled Al-Zaabi, the Consul General of Kuwait in Dubai and Northern Emirates, and members of the Kuwaiti delegation attending the exhibition.
Kuwait’s Tourism Vision Under Visit Kuwait
During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid explored the offerings at Kuwait’s pavilion, which featured the tourism identity “Visit Kuwait.” This platform showcases the diverse and attractive tourist experiences that Kuwait has to offer. The officials at the booth expressed their appreciation for the Sheikh’s visit, highlighting its significance in promoting Kuwait’s tourism sector and reinforcing cooperation among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
Dr. Mohsen emphasized that Kuwait’s attendance at the Arab Travel Market reflects the Ministry’s strategy of elevating Kuwait’s presence in the competitive tourism landscape. This unified national effort aims to present Kuwait as a multifaceted tourist destination that is ripe for development and investment.
Enhancing Cooperative Growth in Tourism
The Ministry of Information stated in a release that Kuwait is officially launching its international tourism presence under the Visit Kuwait brand at this year’s exhibition, which continues until the 17th of this month. The ministry is participating alongside Kuwait Airways and the Kuwait Hotel Owners Union, signaling a collaborative approach to tourism promotion.
Dr. Mohsen noted that launching the Visit Kuwait brand is a significant step towards presenting a coherent image of the nation as a tourist destination. The ministry’s efforts are specifically aimed at boosting awareness about the unique attractions of Kuwait and drawing in more visitors from key target markets.
Furthermore, the importance of participating in a specialized event like the Arab Travel Market extends beyond merely promoting Kuwait. It also facilitates direct engagement with key decision-makers and experts in the travel and tourism sector, allowing for discussions about emerging trends and collaborative opportunities that could enhance the growth of Kuwait’s tourism industry.
Integrated Tourism as a Path Forward
Dr. Mohsen stressed the need for teamwork between governmental entities and the private sector in advancing Kuwaiti tourism. The presence of Kuwait Airways and the Kuwaiti Hotel Owners Union within the pavilion illustrates the ambition to create a seamless tourism ecosystem, from promoting the destination to providing air travel and hospitality services.
According to Yusuf Al-Dhafiri, Director of Public Relations at Kuwait Airways, the carrier’s participation signifies its role as a vital partner in nurturing and developing tourism traffic in Kuwait. He highlighted that the airline continues to strengthen its network of destinations and services to foster travel growth and connect Kuwait to regional and global markets.
This participation also presents Kuwait Airways with the opportunity to engage with travel and tourism companies and explore collaboration prospects that would further enhance tourist accessibility to Kuwait through a robust air transport network.
Additionally, Abdul Ilah Al-Maarifi, Deputy Chairman of the Kuwait Hotel Owners Union, pointed out that the presence of the hospitality sector within the Kuwaiti pavilion is crucial for elevating the visibility of Kuwaiti hotel products. He added that complementary factors, such as accommodation and hospitality services, are critical to ensuring the overall success of any tourist destination.
Future Directions for Kuwaiti Tourism
The Kuwaiti pavilion serves as a comprehensive platform for promoting the nation’s tourism offerings under the Visit Kuwait campaign. Throughout the exhibition’s duration, informational materials and promotional content highlighting Kuwait’s key destinations and experiences are being showcased, together with related aviation and hospitality services.
The program includes various meetings and discussions with representatives of travel and tourism companies, aiming to explore potential partnerships and cooperative efforts that would market Kuwait as an attractive destination within both regional and international tourism products.
Looking forward, the efforts made at the Arab Travel Market 2026 are expected to lay the groundwork for increased tourism growth in Kuwait. Stakeholders are optimistic that these initiatives will lead to enhanced visibility and interest in Kuwait as a travel destination, thus positioning it strategically in the competitive tourism industry landscape.
