Doha, Qatar – Khaled Mohammed Al-Emadi emerged victorious in the Diamond Tour, capping off a successful ninth round of the Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s main arena. The competition, held this week, showcased a diverse range of equestrian disciplines and talent from across the region. This latest event continues the tour’s mission to promote and develop equestrian sports within Qatar and provide a platform for local riders to compete at a high level.

The Diamond Tour, the premier event of the round, saw Al-Emadi and Thor Ter Wilgen Z achieve a winning time of 72.68 seconds. Hamad Nasser Al-Qadi secured second place with Edison Z (74.84 seconds), and Faleh Suwaid Al-Ajami finished third aboard Karmalensky (75.75 seconds). The event also included competitions in dressage, show jumping, and a challenge designed to foster emerging riders.

Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour Showcases Rising Talent

The Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour is a significant fixture in the regional equestrian calendar, attracting both seasoned professionals and promising young athletes. This year’s ninth round featured a comprehensive program, demonstrating the breadth of equestrian skills on display. According to organizers, the tour aims to elevate the standard of equestrianism in Qatar and contribute to the nation’s growing reputation in the sport.

Bronze Tour Results

In the Bronze Tour (120cm) individual competition, Ibrahim Khalid Al-Kuwari claimed the top spot riding Flexy Bel Z with a time of 45.51 seconds. Khaled Al-Hadi followed in second place (48.43 seconds), and Ghanem Nasser Al-Qadi completed the podium in third (48.75 seconds). The team competition within the Bronze Tour saw Al Shaqab take first place with a combined time of 112.86 seconds, followed by Ajwad and The Dome.

Dressage Highlights

Dressage competitors also delivered impressive performances throughout the week. Noura Fathi Nassar led the preliminary test with 63.571 points, closely followed by Al Anoud Rashid Al Nuaimi. Mona Mohammed Hammoudi won the Level 2 dressage competition, while Hamad Nasser Al-Marri excelled in the junior Level 2 category. Level 1 dressage saw Hemyan Khalifa Al-Kuwari take the win, demonstrating the depth of talent in this discipline.

The FEI World Equestrian Challenge provided another opportunity for riders to test their skills, with Suhaim Hamad Al-Yafai emerging as the victor. This challenge is designed to promote international collaboration and provide riders with exposure to different competition formats. Additionally, the Future Riders class at 90cm highlighted the next generation of Qatari equestrian talent, with Layan Sultan Al Thani taking the title.

Awards were presented by Bader bin Mohammed Al-Darwish, President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation, and Mohammed bin Jaber Al-Khayarin, Director of Equestrian Education at Al Shaqab, recognizing the achievements of the riders and teams. The presence of these key figures underscores the importance of the Longines Hathab tour to the development of equestrian sports in Qatar.

The success of the ninth round of the Longines Hathab – Qatar Equestrian Tour points to a continued growth in the popularity and competitiveness of the sport within the country. Organizers are now focused on planning the tenth and final round of the tour, scheduled for later this month. The outcomes of this final round will determine the overall tour champions in each category and provide valuable insights into the future direction of equestrian competition in Qatar.
