Baseball United, the first professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and South Asia, has announced plans to build the first professional baseball field and ballpark in the region. The new ballpark will be located within The Sevens sports and entertainment complex, near downtown Dubai. This historic new ballpark will not only be the first in the UAE and GCC but will also serve as the only professional baseball grounds stretching over a territory of more than 10,000 kilometers from Morocco to India and Bangladesh.

Tentatively called Baseball United Ballpark and with naming rights negotiations still ongoing, the new field will feature a dual fiber synthetic turf playing surface optimized for Dubai’s high temperatures. The LED lighting system will provide more than 15 million lumens across eight lighting towers and 94 fixtures, including advanced BallTracker® technology. The ballpark’s moveable seating configuration will allow space for up to 6,500 fans.

The construction will include above-ground dugouts, foul lines, foul poles, a professional-grade netting system, a state-of-the-art LED content wall, and a traditional scoreboard. The ballpark will feature four different seating sections, including the Diamond Club, Infield Boxes, Outfield Boxes, and VVIP On-Field Cabanas. Baseball United’s Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder, Kash Shaikh, expressed excitement about creating a purpose-built baseball ballpark in Dubai to establish professional baseball in the region.

The dimensions of the ballpark were inspired by Yankee Stadium, with fences measuring 318 feet to left field, 314 feet to right field, and 408 feet to center field. The playing field will be named after Major League Baseball legend and Baseball United Board Member, Barry Larkin. Larkin expressed his honor in having the field named after him and his excitement for the league’s future in Dubai. The Baseball United Ballpark will be situated near the cricket ovals at The Sevens, creating the only joint bat and ball complex in the region.

Partnering with Baseball United, Mathew Tait, General Manager of Emirates Dubai 7s & The Sevens Stadium, shared his excitement about making history in Dubai by adding baseball to the venue. This partnership aligns with the strategy to establish The Sevens as the region’s premier multi-sport destination. The combination of baseball and cricket facilities at The Sevens will offer a unique sporting experience for fans in the Middle East and South Asia. The construction of the first professional baseball field and ballpark in the region marks a significant milestone for the growth and development of baseball in the Middle East and South Asia, bringing the sport to a new audience and establishing a home for professional baseball in Dubai.
