Jiangsu Overseas Cooperation and Investment Company (JOCIC) is attracting Chinese companies to establish their businesses and start production in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). JOCIC Park was invested and built to offer a platform for Chinese companies to manufacture products for the local and regional markets. Approximately 20 companies have already signed agreements to invest in the park, with expectations to start production within the year. These companies will be focusing on producing goods for the UAE and overseas markets. Last year, China’s investments in the UAE increased by 16 per cent to $1.3 billion, accounting for 60 per cent of China’s investments in Arab countries.

Some Chinese companies have already begun manufacturing items like pipelines and gas containers at the park, and others are expected to set up their regional headquarters and research and development institutes for industries like IT and biotechnology. JOCIC aims to attract top Chinese companies to set up operations in the UAE and explore the markets in the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The company offers a one-stop service center for companies and investors to facilitate their operations and investments in the region. JOCIC Park, originally known as the China-UAE Industrial Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Zone, focuses on various industries such as equipment manufacturing, oil and gas, new energy, environmental protection, chemicals, metal processing, and storage and logistics. Phase 1 of the park has been completed, featuring a business service center and industrial areas, with Phase 2 construction expected to begin by the end of the year, covering an area of 10sqkm.

The Chinese Industrial Products Exhibition 2024 is scheduled to take place on November 18 to 19 at JOCIC Park, where about 100 leading companies will exhibit innovative products, showcasing China’s manufacturing capabilities. This exhibition is considered a significant cooperation project serving the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative. The construction of supporting infrastructure in the park has been largely completed, with more than 30 projects signed and the first batch of enterprises starting production. This makes JOCIC Park a preferred destination for Chinese enterprises to invest in the Middle East and an important platform for China-UAE capacity cooperation. The exhibition is expected to deepen economic cooperation and trade between the two countries, further strengthening their ties.
