Women artists poised to dominate MTV Europe Music Awards

The 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards are set to take place in Manchester, the United Kingdom, with female artists such as Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, and Billie Eilish expected to dominate the event. The ceremony will be held at the new Co-op Live venue in Manchester, with British singer Rita Ora hosting the awards, making it the seventh time the event has been held in Britain. Taylor Swift leads the nominations with seven categories following the release of her 11th album “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Other female artists with multiple nominations include Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, and Beyonce, among others. The Best Artist category features a mix of male and female artists from various genres, with Post Malone and Raye also in contention. Rising stars such as Sabrina Carpenter and Ayra Starr are also in the running for awards, showcasing the diverse range of talent at the event.

In the Best Song category, artists like Eilish, Carpenter, Beyonce, and Grande are nominated for their hit songs. However, some Latino artists like Bad Bunny and Karol G were left out of the top categories but are nominated in the Best Latin field.

Other artists up for awards include Travis Scott, Dua Lipa, and Charli XCX, who is nominated in four categories. The global icon award will be presented to Busta Rhymes, recognizing his contributions to the music industry. This year’s edition marks the return of the MTV Europe Music Awards after a hiatus in 2023, with fans eagerly awaiting the performances and award winners of the night.
