The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Doha recently recognized the winners of the tenth edition of the “Know Your Prophet” competition for the academic year 2023-24. This competition, organized by Khalifa Secondary School for Boys in collaboration with Qatar Charity, aims to educate students about the noble character of the Prophet Muhammad and instill a love for him in their hearts. The competition also seeks to promote educational, religious, and moral values among the students.

One of the key components of the competition is memorizing “The Hundred-Verse Poem in Commemoration of the State of the Best of Creation,” which supports the Islamic education curriculum and provides an enjoyable way for students to learn about the Prophet’s life. This year, over 180 public and private schools for boys and girls participated in the competition, with 90 students being honored as winners. The 20 arbitrators of the competition in Islamic education were also recognized for their contributions.

Nasser Al Marri, Head of the Islamic Education Department at MoEHE, commended the efforts of the competition organizers in preparing a generation that is deeply rooted in their religion and knowledgeable about Islamic teachings. He emphasized that the competition goes beyond memorization, as it encourages students to apply what they have learned about the Prophet’s life in their daily lives. Al Marri highlighted the importance of instilling these values in the youth to ensure they uphold their beliefs and follow the Prophet’s teachings.

The competition serves as a platform for students to deepen their understanding of the Prophet’s life and teachings, fostering a sense of respect and admiration for him. By engaging in activities like memorizing the Hundred-Verse Poem, students not only enhance their knowledge of Islamic history but also strengthen their connection to their faith. The competition’s emphasis on practical application challenges students to embody the Prophet’s virtues in their actions, promoting a holistic approach to religious education.

In honoring the competition winners and supporters, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education recognizes the dedication and hard work of all participants in promoting Islamic education among students. By celebrating the achievements of these students, the ministry encourages a sense of pride and accomplishment in honoring the Prophet’s legacy. Through events like the “Know Your Prophet” competition, educational institutions play a vital role in shaping the moral, religious, and educational development of students, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the challenges of the modern world.

Overall, the “Know Your Prophet” competition exemplifies the commitment of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to providing students with a well-rounded education that encompasses both academic and moral development. By recognizing and honoring the achievements of students who excel in their understanding of Islamic teachings, the ministry reinforces the importance of religious education in shaping the future leaders of society. Through initiatives like this competition, students are inspired to deepen their knowledge of the Prophet’s life and teachings, fostering a generation that is proud of its heritage and committed to upholding Islamic values in their daily lives.
