The US Ambassador to Qatar, H E Timmy Davis, highlighted Qatar’s crucial role as a mediator in negotiations to achieve a ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian work in Gaza. Speaking at a press conference during the Qatar Economic Forum, Ambassador Davis emphasized Qatar’s importance as a key partner in mediation efforts. He praised Qatar’s ability to turn moments of conflict into moments of calm, and stressed that Qatar’s involvement in mediation is essential for success in the region.

Addressing concerns about misinformation and false allegations regarding Qatar’s role as a mediator in western media, Ambassador Davis stated that Qatar’s focus is on the negotiation process itself rather than responding to every criticism. He emphasized that Qatar engages in negotiations not out of obligation, but because it aligns with their values as a nation and aligns with how they want to be perceived globally.

Ambassador Davis also highlighted the significance of the Qatar Economic Forum, which brings together experts in economics and business to discuss topics that will shape future actions. He described the economic relations between Qatar and the United States as “fabulous” and stressed that the forum provides an opportunity to focus on the aspirations for economic ties between the two countries. He also mentioned that investing in less noticed areas could be beneficial for Qatari businesses and serve as a model for the region.

The Ambassador expressed optimism about the future of economic relations between Qatar and the United States, emphasizing the potential for growth in commerce and trade. He praised Qatar’s ability to invest in the right places and create valuable partnerships, stating that while Qatar may be geographically smaller than other countries in the region, their strategic investments are unmatched. Ambassador Davis expressed excitement about the current economic relationship between Qatar and the United States, as well as future opportunities for collaboration and growth.
