Fatema Conistan Yathno Majdi Lan, a 64-year-old elderly amputee from Abu Dhabi, has overcome multiple health challenges to walk again. She struggled with chronic kidney disease, diabetes, high cholesterol levels, and high blood pressure, leading to the amputation of part of her foot. However, she underwent a remarkable transformation towards wellness and empowerment at Amana Healthcare, a leading provider of specialized long-term care and rehabilitation.

Upon admission, Fatema was guided by consultant nephrologist Dr Sagar Jujjavarapu and the dedicated dialysis team, undergoing dialysis sessions three times a week. Despite initial concerns, she embraced her treatment, understanding its crucial role in her recovery. As time passed, she not only adjusted to her medical routine but also developed a deep bond with the medical team, resulting in notable achievements such as regaining mobility with a walker and attaining balance in electrolyte levels.

Fatema’s son, Mayed Al Sakhawi, shared how his mother’s health took a severe turn after the amputation procedure, affecting both her physical and mental well-being. The medical team provided excellent healthcare services, tools, support, and equipment during and after the treatment or rehabilitation period. They are grateful to the entire team for their assistance.

Fatema’s caregivers praised her newfound confidence in her abilities, positive attitude, and the support of her son. Dr Jason Gray, CEO of Amana Healthcare, highlighted Fatema’s journey as an example of the transformative power of personalized care and compassionate assistance. Her resilience and the dedication of her caregivers propelled her towards remarkable progress.

Overall, Fatema’s story serves as a testament to the effectiveness of tailored care and unwavering support in overcoming health challenges. Through personalized treatment and compassionate assistance, individuals like Fatema can achieve significant improvements in their overall well-being. The combination of medical expertise, emotional support, and the patient’s determination can lead to incredible transformations and empower individuals to regain mobility and confidence.
