The Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal’s State Security Chamber is set to deliver a verdict on July 10 in Case No. 87 of 2023, which involves the terrorist ‘Justice and Dignity Committee’ Organisation. The organization is accused of planning terrorist acts, fundraising, and concealing the source of funds. Eighty-four defendants are involved, and defense lawyers had a 10-day window to submit closing arguments.

During a recent session, defense lawyers presented their pleas in response to the public prosecution’s arguments. The court also heard the defendants’ arguments, where they claimed the charges were invalid and questioned the evidence presented by the prosecution. The public prosecution maintained that the charges were separate from a previous case and involved criminal actions not included in the prior trial. The court set a hearing date of July 10 to deliver the verdict.

In response to the prosecution’s arguments, defense lawyers presented supplementary memos detailing their stance on the case. The court session lasted three hours and included the defendants’ pleadings in the presence of their lawyers. The defendants argued that the case had been previously adjudicated and questioned the evidence presented, including investigations, technical reports, and media reports. The court will deliver the verdict on July 10 following the submissions from both sides.
