Bangladeshi missions in the UAE are urging all countrymen to abide by local laws and refrain from engaging in prohibited activities that could lead to serious consequences such as visa cancellation, jail time, fines, and a ban on entering the UAE. The Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai have advised their citizens not to take videos or photos of such activities and to avoid spreading rumors and propaganda. This warning comes after many Bangladeshis protested in the UAE against their government in Dhaka, leading to the conviction of 57 individuals for rioting and inciting demonstrations in the Emirates.

On July 22, three accused individuals were given life sentences for organizing demonstrations and inciting riots in the UAE to pressure the government during recent unrest in Bangladesh over job reservation. The court also handed down 10-year sentences to 53 others and an 11-year sentence to one defendant for illegally entering the country and participating in the ‘gathering’. The missions emphasized the importance of respecting the laws and regulations of the UAE and reminded expatriates that any form of assembly, procession, shouting slogans, or creating unrest is strictly prohibited under the country’s laws.

More than 100 Bangladeshis have been killed during protests against their government in Bangladesh, with students leading the demonstrations demanding changes in job reservation policies. The Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi highlighted that the unlawful acts committed by a few individuals do not represent the peaceful and law-abiding Bangladeshi community living in the UAE. They encouraged all expatriates to respect the laws of the host country and to refrain from engaging in any activities that are not permissible by UAE law.

The embassy expressed shock and disappointment over the arrest and sentencing of a group of non-resident Bangladeshis who were involved in public gatherings and protests in the UAE. The statement emphasized that the vast majority of Bangladeshi expatriates in the UAE abide by local laws, traditions, and customs, and condemned the actions of the small group that violated the law. The Bangladeshi missions in the UAE always advocate for their community to show respect and comply with the laws and regulations of the host country to maintain peace and harmony within the expatriate community.

In conclusion, the Bangladeshi missions in the UAE have issued a strong warning to all expatriates to adhere to the laws and regulations of the UAE and avoid engaging in any prohibited activities that could lead to severe consequences. It is essential for the Bangladeshi community to maintain a positive image and abide by the rules of the host country to ensure their safety and well-being while living in the UAE. By promoting respect for local laws and customs, the expatriate community can contribute to a harmonious and peaceful coexistence with the Emirati people and government.
