Big Ticket, a popular raffle draw in Abu Dhabi, is set to resume operations on June 3 after a temporary halt earlier this year. This decision comes after all major private raffle draw operators in the UAE paused their operations due to changes in rules and regulations. The operational pause in April allowed Big Ticket to assess and confirm its readiness to adhere to the evolving regulatory landscape set by the UAE’s Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) for a safe and regulated commercial gaming environment. The resumption of operations reflects Big Ticket’s commitment to delivering a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Big Ticket, which has been running for over three decades, has been a source of hope and excitement for many UAE residents. For some, winning the raffle is a life-changing event, while for others, buying raffle tickets has become a way of life. Expats like Al Ain resident Rajeev Augustine and Indian expat Sabith have shared their experiences with Big Ticket, highlighting the impact of winning on their lives. Many expats form groups to pool their money and buy tickets together, with a chance to win a guaranteed amount of Dh10 million for tickets purchased during the month of May.

Other operators like Emirates Draw and Mahzooz also paused their operations earlier this year, with plans for the UAE to have only one national lottery operator by the first quarter of 2024. Both companies have completed the application process for the National Lottery license. However, it is unclear whether Big Ticket will be the national lottery operator or if other operators will be allowed to function alongside each other. The resumption of raffle draws in the UAE is a positive development for participants who enjoy the excitement and anticipation that comes with buying tickets and waiting for the live draws.

In conclusion, the announcement of Big Ticket’s resumption of operations is welcome news for UAE residents who have been eagerly awaiting the chance to participate in the popular raffle draw once again. With the upcoming live draw scheduled for June 3, participants have the opportunity to purchase tickets and be part of the excitement surrounding the event. As other raffle draw operators like Emirates Draw and Mahzooz also plan their return, it remains to be seen how the regulatory landscape in the UAE will shape the future of commercial gaming and raffle draws in the country. Overall, the resumption of Big Ticket and other raffle draws signals a positive step towards providing a safe and regulated gaming environment for participants in the UAE.
