In Fujairah, tragedy struck as two Emirati children, an 8-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, lost their lives in a devastating fire at their home. The incident, which took place in Al Tuwiyain, also resulted in serious injuries for a 5-year-old child who was rescued by authorities. The Civil Defence Operating Room received a distress call at 2 am on June 25, prompting immediate response from Civil Defence teams who rushed to the scene to control the blaze and assist the injured children. The injured child was quickly transported to Dibba Hospital for further medical attention.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that led to this tragic event. In light of this incident, Brigadier Ali Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of the Fujairah Civil Defence Department, emphasized the importance of following safety protocols, particularly as the country enters the summer season. He advised residents to prioritize the maintenance of electrical lines and ensure the safety of their electrical extensions, especially with the increased use of air conditioning and refrigeration devices during the hot weather.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander in Chief of Fujairah Police, expressed his condolences for the loss of the two young children and extended his well wishes for the recovery of the injured family member. The community has been deeply impacted by this tragic event, emphasizing the need for vigilance and caution when it comes to fire safety measures. As investigations continue, it serves as a reminder for all residents to prioritize safety in their homes and take necessary precautions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

It is crucial for individuals to stay informed and updated on the latest news and developments in their community. By following the guidance provided by Civil Defence and other emergency response agencies, individuals can contribute to creating a safer environment for themselves and their community. The tragic loss of the two young children serves as a somber reminder of the importance of fire safety and the need for ongoing vigilance to prevent such heartbreaking incidents from reoccurring.
