The Friends of the Environment Center hosts summer programs to cultivate environmental skills in young people

The Friends of the Environment Center, based in Doha, Qatar, recently organized a series of activities as part of the “I Explore” summer program. The aim of these activities was to enhance the skills and knowledge of young participants. One of the workshops, titled “Plant and Learn,” was conducted in collaboration with the Arab Sports Club. This workshop focused on educating participants about the methods and techniques of home agriculture, as well as the significance of plants for both humans and the environment.

In addition to the “Plant and Learn” workshop, the Friends of the Environment Center also arranged a workshop on making scented candles. Participants learned how to create these candles using simple raw materials. Another workshop was held in partnership with Al Khor Sports Club, focusing on the importance of agriculture. Through this workshop, participants gained insight into the benefits of agriculture and its positive impact on the environment and society. Agriculture was highlighted as a crucial tool in addressing the effects of climate change.

The workshops organized by the Friends of the Environment Center aimed to empower young men and women participating in the “I Explore” summer activity. By providing hands-on learning experiences, the center sought to develop the skills and knowledge of participants in various areas, including agriculture and environmental conservation. Through these workshops, participants were able to gain practical insights and understanding of important concepts related to agriculture and the environment.

The workshop on home agriculture provided participants with valuable information on growing plants at home. This hands-on activity not only fostered creativity but also promoted the use of environmentally friendly products.
