Al Buraimi Carnival, now in its second edition, is currently taking place at the Al Buraimi Public Park, with activities starting on May 3 and scheduled to end on May 7. The event is being organized by the office of the Governor of Al Buraimi, with the aim of attracting tourists to the region. Salim bin Namshan Al Ka’abi, Director of the events and awareness department, highlighted that the carnival has seen a good turnout of visitors and offers a platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as families to showcase their products.

The carnival features a variety of activities, entertainment and cultural events, including theatrical shows, heritage villages, food corners, competitions, and additional accompanying activities. This year, a total of 40 participants are taking part in the carnival, including event organizers. In the first edition of the carnival, which took place previously, over 25,000 visitors attended the event. The carnival also hosted 70 events with the participation of 15 jobseekers from the Governorate of Al Buraimi. Additionally, there were 33 marketing outlets available for SMEs and 26 outlets for families to promote their products.

The focus of the Al Buraimi Carnival is not only on entertainment but also on promoting local businesses and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The event provides a valuable platform for SMEs to reach a wider audience and increase their visibility. Families participating in the carnival have the opportunity to share their unique products with visitors and gain exposure. With a wide range of activities and events, the carnival aims to cater to various interests and preferences, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all attendees.

One of the key highlights of the carnival is the presence of heritage villages, where visitors can immerse themselves in the traditions and customs of the region. The theatrical shows and cultural performances provide a glimpse into the vibrant arts scene of Al Buraimi, showcasing local talent and creativity. The food corners offer a taste of traditional Omani cuisine, allowing visitors to indulge in authentic flavors and culinary delights. Competitions and interactive activities add to the festive atmosphere of the carnival, encouraging participation and engagement among attendees.

As the carnival draws to a close, organizers are pleased with the positive response and engagement from visitors. The success of the event bodes well for future editions, with the potential to attract even more tourists and participants. The Al Buraimi Carnival serves as a significant platform for economic growth and cultural exchange, contributing to the overall development and promotion of the Governorate of Al Buraimi. By fostering a sense of community and celebration, the carnival brings people together and showcases the diverse talents and offerings of the region.
