US rapper Snoop Dogg to lead torch ceremony at Paris opening ceremony – News

American rapper Snoop Dogg has been selected as one of the torchbearers to carry the Olympic flame in the final stretch leading up to the opening ceremony of the Paris Games. The 52-year-old artist will be carrying the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis, a northern Paris suburb known for being home to the Stade de France Olympic Stadium. The mayor of Saint-Denis, Mathieu Hanotin, made the announcement on the social media platform X, stating that Snoop Dogg will be part of an international cast participating in this event.

Snoop Dogg, in addition to carrying the Olympic flame, is also going to be contributing to NBC Primetime’s coverage of the Games. While he is best known for his music career, Snoop Dogg has also made a name for himself in the sports world through the Snoop Youth Football League, which aims to provide opportunities for young athletes. The league hosts a championship game called the “Snooper Bowl,” showcasing the talent and dedication of the players involved.
