The Saudi Women’s Premier League is set to kick off its new season, the 2024-2025 season, with three matches on the opening day. The league will feature ten teams, including Al Nassr, Al Ahli, and Al Shabab, competing in over 90 matches across 18 rounds. This season will see the participation of over 200 players from more than 20 nationalities, with clubs completing over 15 international transfer deals to enhance the competitiveness of the league.

The President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser Al Misehal, highlighted the potential for this season to strengthen national teams at all levels, building on the successes of the previous two seasons. Aalia AlRasheed, Head of the Women’s Football Department, praised the league’s achievements, attributing them to strong support from the leadership and the Ministry of Sports. The league has attracted global talent, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing women’s football.

In a bid to further promote women’s football in the Kingdom, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation launched a marketing campaign encouraging fans to attend matches, support their teams, and witness top talent. This initiative highlights the rapid growth of women’s football in Saudi Arabia, with approximately 77,000 players participating in school leagues, reflecting the country’s ambitions to build a new sports legacy and expand investment in women’s sports.

With the start of the new season of the Saudi Women’s Premier League, fans can look forward to exciting matches featuring top talent from around the world. The league’s home-and-away format and the participation of over 200 players from diverse backgrounds are sure to raise the competitive level and showcase the rapid growth of women’s football in the Kingdom. The strong support from the leadership and the Ministry of Sports will ensure the continued success of the league and will contribute to the development of women’s football in Saudi Arabia.
