Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal expressed gratitude to the leadership for their support in reaching this milestone in Saudi sports history. The bid for the FIFA World Cup 2034 is seen as a bid for the future, aimed at showcasing the Kingdom’s influential position on the global stage. The involvement of two children in the bid submission reflects the dreams and aspirations of Saudi youth to participate in a FIFA World Cup on home soil. Yasser Al Misehal, President of SAFF, emphasized the country’s deep commitment to hosting the world’s greatest football tournament and creating a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Saudi Arabia’s bid campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2034 aligns with the country’s projected growth in football over the next decade. The bid submission marks the third stage in the official bid process, with Saudi Arabia being the sole nation in the race to host the tournament. The Kingdom’s commitment and determination to host the event are evident in the official bid submission. The next stages in the bid process will include official visits by FIFA and a comprehensive evaluation of the bid, leading up to the selection of the host nation in December 2024.

Saudi Arabia has established itself as a globally renowned sports and entertainment hub, having hosted over 100 major events since 2018. The country has seen significant growth in physical activity and registered football players, reflecting a deep commitment to transforming the sports sector. The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has witnessed a dramatic increase in competitiveness over recent years, attracting some of the biggest names in the sport. The Kingdom’s hosting of major events such as the FIFA Club World Cup 2023 and the Saudi Women’s League has helped attract a growing number of fans from around the globe.
