Opera singer wins the Qatar Nassau Stakes at Goodwood

The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC)-sponsored Qatar Goodwood Festival continued to showcase thrilling racing action at the Goodwood Racecourse, UK, with Opera Singer securing the prestigious Qatar Nassau Stakes. The festival, sponsored by Qatar, is in its 10th consecutive year, with Qatar Tourism represented by Visit Qatar renewing their partnership with Goodwood Racecourse for the coming years. Day 4 of the festival promises several exciting races at the prestigious racecourse.

Opera Singer, a three-year-old filly trained by Aidan O’Brien and owned by M Tabor, D Smith, Mrs J Magnier, and Westerberg, claimed victory in the Qatar Nassau Stakes. Jockey Ryan Moore guided Opera Singer to a successful run, leading from the start and holding off challenges to secure the win. The filly, who previously won the Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac, showed her potential by winning the Gr.1 race. Her trainer expressed confidence in Opera Singer’s ability to stay the distance, and she proved him right with a strong finish.

H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al Thani, the Ambassador of Qatar in the UK, presented the trophies to the winners of the Qatar Nassau Stakes, with QREC Chairman Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi also in attendance. The day’s races were attended by various dignitaries and racing enthusiasts, adding to the excitement of the event. The focus now shifts to the upcoming races on Day 4 of the festival, including the Gr.2 King George Qatar Stakes, showcasing a competitive field of talented runners.

The Qatar Goodwood Festival has become a highlight on the racing calendar, attracting top horses, jockeys, and trainers from around the world. The partnership between Qatar Tourism and Goodwood Racecourse has been instrumental in the success of the event, providing a platform for thrilling racing action and showcasing the sport to a global audience.
