Former New Zealand cricketer Corey Anderson has been selected to play for the United States squad in the upcoming T20 World Cup in June, as announced by USA Cricket. Anderson had previously represented New Zealand in the 50-overs World Cup in 2015 and also played in two T20 World Cups for the team. The 33-year-old all-rounder last played for New Zealand in 2018 and recently made his debut for the United States in a T20 series against Canada.

The tournament co-hosts have chosen wicketkeeper-batter Monank Patel as the captain of the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup. The team will also compete in three T20 Internationals against Bangladesh in Houston before their first World Cup match against Canada on June 1 in Dallas. The USA squad includes players like Aaron Jones, Steven Taylor, Saurabh Netravalkar, Jessy Singh, and others, with Corey Anderson being one of the key players in the lineup.

Known for his aggressive batting and handy left-arm pace bowling, Corey Anderson has been a part of various T20 leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2014. His experience and skills will be crucial for the United States team as they aim to make an impact in the upcoming T20 World Cup. With the leadership of Monank Patel and a balanced squad, the team is gearing up for some exciting matches in the tournament.

Corey Anderson’s inclusion in the USA squad brings a wealth of international experience and talent to the team. Having played at the highest level of cricket for New Zealand, Anderson’s presence will not only boost the team’s performance but also provide valuable insights and guidance to the younger players. His all-round abilities make him a valuable asset for the United States squad as they prepare to compete against top cricketing nations in the T20 World Cup.

The selection of Corey Anderson in the USA squad for the T20 World Cup reflects the growing talent and potential in American cricket. With players like Anderson, Aaron Jones, and others in the lineup, the team has a good mix of experience and youth. This opportunity to showcase their skills on a global platform will be a significant step forward for cricket in the United States and could potentially attract more attention and interest in the sport within the country.

As the USA squad prepares to take on Bangladesh in the upcoming T20 Internationals before the World Cup opener, Corey Anderson’s presence adds depth and firepower to the team’s batting and bowling line-up. His ability to perform under pressure and make crucial contributions in key moments of the game will be vital for the United States’ chances in the tournament. Fans and cricket enthusiasts will be eager to see how Anderson and the rest of the squad fare in the T20 World Cup.
