The Saudi security forces have cracked down on illegal residents in the Kingdom, with a total of 19,541 individuals arrested during the last week. Of these, 22,827 violators have been referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, while 5,365 individuals were referred to complete their travel reservations. A further 8,954 violators have been deported by the authorities. The Ministry of Interior has issued a warning that anyone found facilitating the illegal entry, transportation, or sheltering of individuals in the Kingdom may face severe penalties, including up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SR1 million. Vehicles and properties used for these purposes will also be confiscated.
